Medenine ( ') is one of the 24 governorates (provinces) of Tunisia. It is situated in south-eastern Tunisia. It covers an area of 9167 km²〔 and had a population of 479,520 at the 2014 census.〔 (Census 2014 (National Institute of Statistics) )〕 The governorate includes the offshore island of Djerba, but the capital is Medenine, located on the mainland.
